Flip – One of the three

So potentially the last flip of 2024, maybe ever, certainly on this scale.

Pre flip video

There’s a video, not the most informative thing you’ll ever see, plants look OK and the song is great.

The trellis is 60cm – 2 feet – above the dirt so we have 1x Frozen Black Cherry at 50cm a few at 60cm dead on and the rest mostly 70cm with some outliers. We want to add at least 50cm to each during flip really. Gas can go back on tomorrow. The VPD has been a steadyish 1.6-1.8 which is a bit toppy for veg but they’ve been on bloom nutes for three feeds now. Flip tonight. I’m also going to see how cold I can get in there tonight with both AC’s on. Then I need a way to remote control both AC’s on a timer so they keep it warmer during lights on and cold at night – night does bring any temperature reductions here, the input air remains 30c even with the lights off. We of course want it cooler to get some funky colours, these are best achieved by fucking with the transportation of calcium 15-16c would be nice. I need to get into the habit of doing the same with the 5×5.

I did I quick inventory while I was up recording the video. Here incase I forget it. Bit of strain review too.

You can click the names to reveal the description. Not a great way of doing it apologies.

Barney’s Farm – Kush Mintz x 7 (click)

“During our selective process on Biscotti Mintz we introduced a critical Kush pheno that displayed an unusual 30% sativa characteristic. This combined with our delicious Mintz brought something very exciting to the table, a 70% indica dominant plant, totally unique to our catalogue with amazing characteristics. Kush Mintz Strain with its powerful Himalayan OG Kush linage is extremely vigorous, powerful indica now with a 30% sativa boost. The explosion of the Critical linage infusion brings huge yields both indoor and out with outdoor heights reaching 2m, super strong and sturdy with unbelievable production capabilities.

The Mintz unsurprisingly further enhances those famous earthy Pine and sweet citrus Kush aromas with hints of coffee and delicate hints of minty cookies! Kush Mintz Strain is extremely resinous, sticky to the touch with a heavy coating of trichomes covering the familiar light green colours with occasional dark green and purple contrasting fan leaves protrude from its dense flowering structure”

Barney’s Farm – Biscotti Mintz x 3 (click)

“Created for the real connoisseurs featuring two of the USA’s premium and most elusive strains. The lab crossed Biscotti; already a world beating 80% Indica dominant specimen with our exclusive and delicious Mintz Phenotype. The results were stunning, the Cookies variant x OG Kush parentage provided the incredible potency and a flavour backbone, add the infusion of the creamy smooth Mintz genetics created this Mouth-watering new champion of a strain, a totally unique edition to our catalogue.

Biscotti Mintz Strain is predominantly a deep purple plant with trichome production off the scale, during the final day’s leaves display a beautiful array of purples, oranges and greens wrapping the tightly formed bolder shaped dark green buds with bold purple highlights and long orange hairs.

You will be astounded by its tantalising, lingering tastes, and aromas, kushy flavours with hints of chocolate chip cookies with creamy mint and spice. Distinctive Limonene, Caryophyllene, Eucalyptol terpenes come together to produce exceptionally appetizing aroma. With Biscotti Mintz Strain, discover a highly creative, focused, and relaxing effect with a noticeable and distinct creeping energizing body high.”

So yes a certain similarity between those two – like English cousins, that fuck. We went really Kushy here to try and get two grows in before end of year, 8 weekers. I’ve all but blown that with the delay in veg. Anyhoo, next up,

Barney’s Farm – Blue Gelato 41 x 3 (click)

“Blue Gelato 41 strain is our sensational new Blueberry super-cross with the West Coast. She was created by crossing the famous Blueberry with Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and the fresh and fruity Indica, Sunset Sherbert. Blue Gelato 41 strain will rapidly plunge you into a tranquil pool of potent psychedelic pleasure. Many phenotypes display blue/purple flowers, all are smeared in thick resin and ooze sweet and earthy citrus flavours.

Let this fabled Indica fascinate your taste buds and massage pain away leaving pure satisfaction and joy.  Although Gelato’s aromas are wonderfully intoxicating, effects are generally clear headed and energetic. Flowering time indoors is 9 to 10 weeks; outdoors Blue Gelato 41 strain can reach up to 2 metres, normally finishing in October. Expect an exceptional yield! With stretched pre-flowering can deliver up to 3kg of breathtaking weed.”

Who doesn’t like Blueberry, eh? Plus some fancy pheno’d Girl Scout Cookies with more of that minty!

Growers Choice – Tropical Cookies x 1 (click)

“Tropical Cookies is a hybrid strain bred from Girl Scout Cookies and Tangie, known for its energizing and euphoric effects. It combines citrusy, sweet flavors with a visually appealing mix of purple, green, and orange in the buds. Grower’s Choice, a brand rooted in expert cannabis knowledge, produces these quality seeds. They focus on innovative cannabis seed development with an emphasis on quality and affordability, working with experienced horticulturalists.”

This one its always looked a beat beaten up and dulled leaves, 80% Sativa from 8-9 weeks? Interesting?! I’m sure how they get to 80% given the parents.

Anesia Seeds – Frozen Black Cherry x 2 (click)

“Quick Overview

Frozen Black Cherry, boasting THC levels up to 36%, combines high potency with unmatchable taste, attributed to its lineage from Blackberry Moonrocks and Pacific Frost. This strain thrives in diverse environments, reaching maturity in 8-9 weeks, and produces heavy yields of resin-rich, sweet-tasting buds with a frosty appearance that seems covered in ice. Its terpene profile dazzles with wild berry and sour notes, dominated by juicy cherry aromas.

Exceptional Features

The resin production begins aggressively soon after flowering, with indoor yields up to 500g/m² and outdoor yields hitting 1000g/plant. Optimization techniques like defoliation and UVB lighting during the last 3 weeks of flowering can enhance THC concentration further. This medium-height plant requires ample light for peak development.

Experiencing Frozen Black Cherry

Its effects are highly potent, inducing sensory distortions and a deep, physical relaxation that melts away stress. The buds are rock hard and super sticky, creating a smooth smoke that leaves users with a lasting fruity sweetness. Its ability to distort the sense of time and amplify music makes it uniquely appealing for an immersive experience.”

I mean they seem pretty bullish about it, right? To be fair, it looks the part!

Anesia Seeds – White Runtz x 2 (click)

“With our feminized White Runtz we bring the outstanding and rare genetic lines of a first-class cannabis strain to Europe. White Runtz is one of the biggest Strains in California right now. This delightfully fruity and frosty Cannabis strain is a real heavyweight in the Cookies family. It was created by crossing a very aromatic and exceptionally potent Zkittlez with a long-selected and extremely resinous Gelato. The result is a cannabis strain with an unique terpene profile that produces potent effects on both the mind and body.

The plants are bright green and some phenotypes can even create reddish and purple colours. White Runtz is known for its mild and soft smoke and its fantastic strong effects. The highly euphoric, uplifting and calming high is supported by a unique terpene and cannabinoid profile.

The effects last for hours, make your mind float and hit with a heavy full-body stone that seems to slow the world down. After a sativa wave of creativity, euphoria and happiness, there is a deep, honest, relaxation that feels very pleasantly tingling and envelops the whole body.

The balanced hybrid with a slight indica dominance has an extremely fruity and tropical taste of citrus and sour berries, which is rounded off by a seductive pineapple note. With its above-average high THC content of up to 29%, it is the best choice for experienced users or for the therapeutic treatment of various symptoms such as pain, loss of appetite, nausea and stress. White Runtz is everything: heavy-hitting, uplifting, calming, medical and always the best choice.

So there you go 18 plants – realistically I reckon 9 weeks minimum out. That’s OK, parents can see all stages of the growing process when they visit. We’ll be flowering, vegging, drying, trimming, chopping and curing during their stay. I wonder how my Ma is at trimming?

5×5

These are slowly budding up, smaller than the 4×4 but I think they weren’t getting fed properly. We have a new routine that now every time a tank empties the filters get cleaned. It can more than halve the feed time so if you don’t check visually its done 12 minutes which is the standard watering time for this tent it might only be the equivalent of 4 or 5 minutes. They had some gas last week, I hadn’t optimised the setup so that was basically a waste of one big tank of Co2. At least 7 weeks left here. Tonight I’m going to run it cold in there. See what we can get. Since the photos were taken I also bobbed and weaved some colas around especially out to the left as you look at it.

8×4

Yeah still not sure what’s in here! Some evidence of not getting watered properly again there, these are bouncing. Need a proper defoliation just a week on from the last. These are also getting flipped tonight, in fact the lights are now off given how long this has taken me to write. I’ll get an inventory tomorrow when they’re trimmed. Of note – we haven’t lost a plant since we went back to using myco on this grow.

4×4

Pineapple Chunk, Bruce Banner and Liberty Haze. I know what’s going on here.

Bugger buds here, that Liberty Haze looks like she might go 5oz or so. Not bad for one plant out of 12 in a 4×4! These have got 6 weeks plus left, all 10 week plus plants. Be nice to trouble the kilo mark out of here.

Nursery

Not sure where these will end up. My main concern is the rear right middle. Some how we only ended up with one Black Patronus clone, that is she. I want to run a flower room full of those three fancy strains in the 5×5. Masterpiece and Animal Mintz being the other two. We’ll see, maybe I’ll get a bit more enthusiastic about another grow in a few weeks, the Shack starts moving weed when tourists start coming back in a month or so that leaves time to squeeze in another grow.

That’s it really – we’re trying a new line of nutes a 3 parter, white label of someone else. Called Exotic Energy. I should probably take a look at the EC, they look alright after a couple of days of it. See what the coming weeks bring.

  1. Looking good D! Liberty Haze is a solid strain for sure! I’ve ordered Sour D from Barney’s and will run that next run. Another seed run… O well! 😂

You’ve had an amazing journey and it’s been great following you along the way!

You will have some time off and then get bored and miss all the plants and fiddling. But I believe scaling down and focusing towards effectiveness and what you mostly like growing will bring better quality each grow.  Been there and done that, it will let stress of your chest having to focus on maybe 2-3 grows instead of 5?

    Talk soon!

    1. Hey buddy!

Yeah some stuff changed last night, I’ll post later today but I bought 6 Permanent Chimera clones last night… I think I’m going to do a flower room only, veg to flower grow in the same room. 4 strains, all Seed Junky or Exotic Genetix, they really seem like they’re Weed Strains 3.0 – after landraces, classics like OG Kush etc these are like next gen. Soooo pretty!

  2. Permanent Chimera. A more stable Gorilla Glue cross?

People seem to like Seed Junky’s stuff. It’s a little boring with everyone growing  the same “Cap Junky” strain. They seem stable and easy to grow.

Are you keeping any mom’s or just seed tossing?

I’ve ordered 10x Sour Diesel from Barney’s Farm. Doing another seed run in hopefully a couple of months. Kept three mom’s but I’m probably only gonna keep #2 and #7. 2# is the greasy oil producer and #7 is the most vigorous plant I’ve had in years. Aggressive to root and not very picky in any sense, hardy and yields a ton, 13-14 weeks strain.

I’m gonna setup something similar soon. Keeping two sativa dom and two indica dom as moms.  Bruce is on point for potency but I miss something more motivating and uplifting.

    Cheers!
