So we harvested everything. And like these things are – could have been soo much more! But then could have been so much less.
We were happy – but the electricity, the Weed Shack as a business, the other businesses and then family, and school applications and yeah. So we knew this and were planning on a break. Because the way bills work – d’uh – I wanted 3 months off, square the old financial ship. But yeah & Co ended up parleying up her catering business and the Weed Shack into a total two-story new build restaurant. Which has taken some time. The Weed Sales a bonus when they come. We have lots on hand and it turns over slowly but its something. And like its making money (if not paying back the investment entirely! Though note the restaurant spin up)
Anyway though, we took down nearly everything. Flower Room is no more – when the restaurant is finished it’ll be my office. Lights are down, the electrics, – a mess and still have an AC running super low to massage the weed stored there. Then the tents, all gone. But one 5×5 with a 1000W three dimmer (UV) light, AC, Dehuey and Co2.
I kept that one.
So yeah. Had my break. Been chatting with my mates that I just only know from growing and like I’m the only one not growing. Which is weird. And then dunno ebbs and flows and I had some false starts were I was like, “Yeah I’ll do this and then – it’ll mean…” Nothing really felt right though and I wanted something to test and remind me of the first love of the grow. So this is what I came up with:
#1 Let’s make it a dozen (12) Bruce Banners, the first strain we grew but they were clones from Weed Seeds – we’ll buy them same seeds.
#2 Grow them under like a really big light in a 5×5 in a carport but with totally dedicated environmental controls, closed circuit to allow for Co2 circulation
#3 Grow them at a lower EC than normal – <2.2EC Max
#4 Grow them in rockwool
I know! Always with the 3.0EC is fine, me that guy! I’m aiming for sub 2.2 this grow. Really. Imma gonna start like that for sure.
Rockwool? Oh yeah. That’s like a huge and epic change.
Its been like the funnest grow for a long time. And just starting. We are in the first of rockwool sorta, We got 15/16 seedlings above ground – nearly perfect and & Co not given up yet on that one. I think it was the only one of the 16 that sank after an hour. Have a cool video of the popping. Lily did it all. Shook out 16 seeds of 19 out of two bags. Can you believe how steady 5 year old kid’s hands can be? Like She had no doubt. Me? I struggle to pick up a single seed safely!
Other fun stuff, with no little help from a good growing mate – we printed the anti algae covers after matey edited the original design. Cheers bruv! So like loads of new stuff but with the old strain. Downsized as well. Massively. A different level of engagement for sure, which is good, bring the fun back.
Some photos below at random – just FYI – we’re not at home the next three nights so need something to work before we put them in the tent, this is like rockwool transition while we go away thing. Then bit and pieces from how we got to here.

So yeah – loads of the technical detail missing – update on that – like I have no CalMag in the house – I am hoping I am done with that and I have the science too! Maybe….
But yeah stretched – I’m stretching my skills to make sure even doing it wuite different I can keep them happy. “Learn to read the plant, Nick” Let us go now, you and I – and see if I did, like, through my shell, like.
The grow setup is going to be super cool. There’s those 6″ Cube Rockwools – its like less than – well its like 3.5 Litres so that’s 0.93 US Gallon sized. Actually we’re obvs used to the pot volume stuff, we like less, less is the same or more. But we have some rockwool strips as well we’re going to play around with on the pallet – and we have the Rolls Royce drainage system for a 5×5 tent to come as well. In stainless steel. I hope. I asked for it for my wedding anniversary present. It might happen.
