Clones – Our own and new. Sparky please!

So as someone asked – seeds or clones? And shopping baskets.

The Permanent Chimera turned up – paid $7.50 each for 6 – they sent 9 so a little cheaper. They should have taken about 36-48 hours but took 4 days? 5? Anyway its legal to ship so need for subterfuge, tracked sending. The shopping baskets allow light and air, they’re in soil so water wasn’t a big issue – plus they arrived final mile on the back of a motor bike in the rain! Plus how useful are shopping baskets around a grow or even just house!

Our clones

This is before the above went in – I’m going to secretly cull some. There’s only four strains I want to keep, in addition to the above there is: 1x Black Patronus, 7x Masterpiece, 5x Animal Mintz BX1 – so less than a third the total? There’s nothing else that’s wowed me there – and I can get the seeds again easy. We want to turn this into 20 for the next grow, so the BP is a risk point, there just being one, but she looks good now. Back, right tray, 2nd.

Of a slightly bigger concern, the lights in the flower room didn’t come on and I didn’t notice for 3 hours. The breaker had tripped that the control box runs off. There are breakers in the control box one for each of two timers that in turn control two pairs of double 3 pin sockets. You feel me? 🤣

It sounds like some riddle starting if seven sisters had… well yeah maybe, & Co is one of 7 sisters, and child #7 of 8 – but yeah it wasn’t hard to isolate, its one of the Mars Hydro FC6500’s cable or driver.

One of the three… When I found I’d isolated it, it not only tripped the breaker again but it even seemed to jump out the socket. Its some bad Juju right there. What caused it? My first thought and worry was water ingress. Its really raining right now. a super typhoon has been running through SE Asia – rare it will get from the Phillipines, HK, China, Vietnam and then to Thailand and Myanmar, they run out of steam generally by Vietnam, the winds travelling East. That’s sort of 1200km north of us, but then it hits our monsoon, the strong winds that bring rain from the West, the winds that bring the rains that feed India are our rainy season too. you looked out the window my old apartment somewhere right beyond the horizon is East Africa – the Maldives are only a 4 hour flight. So the rain is dumping the winds are howling. Big global weather mash up. But I don’t think so. We fortunately have no signs of leaks or anything. We had the roofs serviced 18 months ago, in our climate this is normal. Lots of sun, lots of rain. We’ve got someone coming to check in the next day or so but my money is on some reptile/rodent. It could be a Mars failure, I think their build quality is poor at times.

They look like FCE1000’s to be – the more rectangular profile. I think what the article says, it was more likely a timer issue – not at all saying it was the lights. But the fear of a fire like that is why I’m annoyed, they’re in Week 3 since flip, this is not the time to be giving light stress, probably the worst time of the grow – and a grow that has been perfect environmental control so far too! A grow that looks banging! Budding up mega!

So for now before we await Sparky, I raised the lights and turned on the house lights (4x 8W 3000K, don’t knock ’em look at that rich warm yellow!) Its a bit annoying but the electrics worked as expected and nothing got hurt – apart from maybe a giant gecko bit a cable and got fried. We just fixed the riser hatch too (where the snake likely got in) So maybe something couldn’t get out and nibbled the wrong thing!

One tent to go, the 4×4 with I’m pretty sure the biggest buds in the house in. Then like those bridges that are being painted 24/7 its back to the 5×5 because they are just so, so damn pretty.
