There’s a harvest and the future too.

So 4 quick pictures of where we’re at with the Flower Room, we flipped on 1st September and four weeks later, here we are:

So bulking up, they started on the Dutch Pro Bloom Explode yesterday. The environment is all good. Day and night. Not sure VPD – ummm – checks – lolz – like way low for this stage even though the gas is off. Too cold of all things. That said the Pulse I think is broken. A cheapo sensor I just moved to the drying sensor has it at 23c in there from early today, not the 17c that my Skin&Eyes tells me is untrue. I’ll have a look at dialing it in a bit better tomorrow, some more air forced in should do it.

The tall poppy in Q2 is interesting, no light but shot up – plants will grow out of the dark more strongly than into the light I’ve read. That was one of the runts of the litter before. Keeps going up and up looking! Maybe the replacement driver tomorrow, next day or two I would think. Gas is off. Let them chill. Literally! 4-5 weeks left to catch up for sure. Next up the 5×5 – nearing end of life, go a little more though, lets see some more colours!

Loads of purples, the darkest being the Black Patronus. There’s 3 of them. Then the Masterpiece (6x Cap’n Junky x Platinum) limited info on this, but not seen them take colour like they have here before, generally the photos I’ve seen are green. They do seem the frostiest although the Animal Mintz BX1 (3x) – I think a parent/grandparent of Cap’n Junky, we grew before, that was plain green but a few of those leaves are purpling.

I mean it looks pretty, I know, in theory its harm to Calcium transportation, normally overnight from getting a temperature differential in. But the thing is, its the same tent, and apart from the last grow in here when the light broke, its really the same setup so the strains are really playing a part here. With a name like Black Patronus they likely pheno hunted for stuff that will go very deep purple (which will look like black) Hey looks cool, consumers think its cool. We’ll grow it. Does it impact strength? Doubt it.

The Sales guy from Rizen/Gavita, the lovely Tobin was asking me questions about it last week for a large farm operation here. How they could help them get more purples. Colder at night, pick the right strains or get lucky with pheno’s was my advice. Though I reckon UV probably helps a little. Sunburn them if nothing else! On to harvest.

These are hanging in about 22.5c and 53% Rh, its a little too dry in there, but its just using the AC so harder to control. In terms of weight – I’ll say over 453g (A pound) but not much more. 12 plants little Enviro control in 2L pots? A low draw light? Practically free weed, especially as the labour was near zero. Well until trim! What’s next?

So here we have all clones, our own and bought in. The first three we have in the 5×5 finishing now. We have:

• Animal Mintz BX1 – Seed Junky 3rd Grow
• Masterpiece – Seed Junky & Inhouse Genetics
• Black Patronus – Exotic Genetix
• Permanent Chimera – Seed Junky & BeLeaf
• Bubble Gum Marker – Seed Junky & ??!
• Red Dragon – No idea came free with some of the others.

Some of those we have limited numbers of so we need to grow them out a bit take more clones ready for the next grow we might downsize for. Just 18 in the flower room perhaps and 12 in the 5×5. The Weed Shack is having some renovation work done, closed for a couple weeks during some of the worst weather anyone can remember here, there were leaks, some rats, just some maintenance. The upside is, we’re close to high season and that means tourists and tourists like weed more than the locals. We have a strong tourist friendly brand on a busy, but slow moving, road. So maybe we’ll be wanting to grow more in the next grow or maybe we quit and I keep just the 5×5! The future is unwritten.
