Wastei and I threw some further riffs on my Generation theory chat. I think we’re… ha so in my tech day job. This amuses me – file under “The Human Condition” So in my day job I used to listen to the older techies with their “Belts and Braces” Unix and Bash – KISS – Endless, endless GANNT charts to just change a fucking password. I’m Gen X, we have learned to use Powershell – but like we are the finest generation ever lived with Google. CTRL C, CTRL V – My Laptop model, Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon – its just workhorse business laptop, they swapped the Fn and CTRL keys last year – outrage, world GDP probably dipped by $500bn or something? Or maybe it ticked up? Someone meaning to email their boss to quit instead of hitting CTRL V with a fuck you meme hit Fn V and it gets weird and sends a link to Pharrell’s “Happy” and he finally breaks up his inherited business and Leo finally gets home?

But the Millennials and Z’s and whatever else? Their techies are lunatics. I mean Zuckerberg he’s a Millennial? 1984 – Gen X is to 1979. Some say 80 or 82, it suits me to make it >/=1980 because telling my brother he’s a Millennial is fun. He bought the Coupland novel when he was about 14 the precocious fecker. So in the terms of talking about strain Generations with @Wastei its reversed. He’s been growing so so much longer than me – I think we’re close in age but he’s just been doing since he was young, I’m a late starter. So I’m like the young chancer I see in my day job “Cloud and AI everything?!” is the refrain.

• The “Cloud” is just someone else’s server you pay for.
• AI is just Google but wants to have a chat, it doesn’t add IQ

So yeah maybe I do try and look back on the value of the older generations though, both in tech and strains. So there’s that!

8×4 – the unloved but scrappy ladies

So yeah, the Outkasts tent. The middle child. Ex. the 5G bottom left in the left hand picture they are all in 3 Gallon Airpots. I mean I said it before and I’ll say it again – those Mars Hydro FCE4800’s (link here – I get no commission or whatever btw, they don’t like me much I suspect! Its just such a kinder warmer light, the cabling is badly designed, the bars (and I think its related to the cabling) run too hot. Its Bridgelux diodes rather than Samsung which is the market leader by volume, and the reds, IR which you typically get like spats, they’re two tone, enough to take the high AND the low, I mean I since blasting my eyes with 200w of 6000k, already the owner of pale blue eyes, sun sodden from a life in Africa and the Tropics, those lights are like honey on my eyes. Or something like honey that won’t seal my eyelids shut with melted sugar and blind me for life.

We bought them for a better Veg – Flower cycle, 8×4 was meant to be the space where we grew to flip but we’ve done two cycles of Veg – Harvest there now. Mostly in 3 Gallons, some as we swap between this tent and the flower room – during our ill advised laziness to add Myco we lost a few plants to root type stuff – now its back we haven’t lost any – we did lose one out of here yesterday though.

The 3x Panama’s were known Regs. I knew posting about 10 days to flip I needed to check this tent for boys, fortunately & Co shouted up the other morning;

Like this one knew what it wanted! I doubt the porno star I met the other night has bigger knackers than this thing had, riddled with them, it was.

It was literally like that – could have been the Gengis Khan of plants. & Co be like “Meh – I cut now and put outside, we got two ladies” Nah honey! Chon! Can I get black bin bag? & Co we walk slowly – you know the kerosene for my light? Make bright dangerous light – lets put in the bag and use that make fire.” 🤣

It felt like kryptonite – we aren’t the only growers round here – and estimations vary between 500m and 3km as to how far Cannabis pollen can travel – no one should be a bad neighbour.

Guess I need another Pt. or 2.

Leave you with this, our visitor to the flower room early in the week. Safely caught and released healthy – we maybe saw it in the banana tree next to the front door/riser where it would ahve got upstairs and into the flower room. Poor thing – I saw it on the floor by the Dehuey and insta spotted it. I did not jump up like a little girl, nor call & Co to fix this terror. I did know it a Golden Tree Snake and harmless more than a nip, non venomous. Unlikely but it might give you Tetanus or something. But they’re docile, not aggressive. They also fly. Well sorta. The ones in Malaysia are better and a slighter different genus. I think there are some better flying snakes in Indonesia as well. I’ve seen pictures of snakes with like rudders on! What they actually do is glide, in quite an interesting way where they balance forward momentum, lateral (shimmy shimmy ya) and aero – the rudder like tail.
